Public SnipEx Servers for you to play with!
September 20, 2007 ·
I just wanted to note down some public SnipEx server addresses that are out there just to remind myself as well as hopefully helping others:

Are there snippets of code that you seem to type over and over again?
Do you use the local snippets functionality of cfeclipse to store these bits of code?
Do you work with a team of developers where you use a standard set of libraries, a framework or any bit of code that you all use?
I can guarantee that you'll say yes to the first question.
If you've said yes to the first question, then you should be saying yes to the second one as well, but its something that can be difficult to a) remember to do b) get into the habbit of using. I'm guilty of this, but I am getting better at using snippets, honest guv!
The third question - this is where a snipex server comes in. If you are using code snippets then a snipex server is an ideal way of managing and sharing snippets.
The public snipex server give a way of developers sharing the bits of code that they find most useful with other developers. Todd Sharps' snipex server has different libraries that you can sign up for, including a ModelGlue and generic CFC library. Admittedly its a little sparce at the minute, having only just been launched, but its open to everyone, so I expect it will grow quickly. I know I want to try to put together some FarcryCMS snippets to go up there....
I hope that helps answer your question...
Sorry for the essay Mark...
