Complete List of Web2.0 Products

February 12, 2006 ·

I am not sure if I like the terminology of "Web 2.0". I thought most of the things were pointles AJAX implementations (dont even get me started on the X in AJAX, its bloated! I prefer JSON but I am sure that AJAJ just sounds like you clearing your throat) but here is a great list of all the AJAX (grrr) and Web 2.0 applications: Complete List of Web 2.0 Products and Services

    AJAJ? Nah, it's called AHAH now, apparently - http://microformats.org/wiki/rest/ahah - AJAX is, <valleygirl>like, SOOOO last week</valleygirl>... ;)

God, I am so behind the times on this. I think I am going to go back to writing the spec for Web 4.0 and stuff the silly lot of you :D

I prefer AJAJ- Asynchronous Javascript and JSON. or maybe Asynchronous Javascript and Html (AJAH) or you could do it in Flash with AAAH! (Asych. Actionscript and HTML!)?

So you telling me the resurfacing of A-HA! (Asynchronous Html Actions) is not a band but a methodology?!

Indeed! The big project I'm currently working will be full of distributed knowlege sharing using
Asynchronous Http For Enhancing Community Knowledge In Tools, or AHFECKIT, for short.

I must say that in your meetings it must sound like everyone is clearning their throat!

not quite, but it does sometimes sound like the South Park "Chinpokomon" episode ( http://www.planearium2.de/scripts-310.htm )

I still gotta say that JSON rules. Its is awesome, no more silly XML parsing in Javascript... of course, you could go with the XSLT parser in JavaScript if you are feeling particulary masochistic.

Ick.... I always thought XML parsing in Javascript was just needlessly over-complicated, and I just had the server return Javascript or HTML anyway. Now that someone's given it a buzzword, of course, it's the talk of "teh intarweb" and a technique in it's own right. Guess that's why I'm not a dotcom millionaire - no head for branding. Ah well.

Looking forward to your talk at the CFUG, by the way. See you there.
