Advanced CFEclipse Presentation: What do you want to know?

January 15, 2008 ·

So, I am going to be presenting at few conferences this year (more on that soon!) and I wanted to get some community feedback about what you would like to hear about and even get demo's on. I have a few things I want to demonstrate but I am sure people out there have questions along the lines of "how do I..." or know of features that thing would be of use to people out there. So, an open source presentation?? Maybe not but I would welcome your ideas/feedback!

I think the cfc explorer can do some cool things like inserting create and invoke statements. I think that's a cool feature that doesn't get too much attention.

I also think an advanced snippet presentation is a good idea. Show people how productive they can be with say an application.cfc snippet.

The proper JD to Coke ratio evaluation? Oh wait, wrong presentation;) Yeah, some of the lesser known, lesser publicized features, like keyboard shortcuts, CFC explorer operations, project properties, etc.

    Hey MD,

I have found that recent converts to CFE struggle to use to use the framework explorer, CFCUNit facade, source control plugins - in a way it may become a "how to become an advanced developer using eclipse" talk :-).

May the scotch (and JD) be with u

CFCUnit, source control (SVN), and of course advanced snippets as well as how to be more productive with cfeclipse and Eclipse plugins such as Mylan, ANT and the CF wizards for example. For me personally, I find it hard to separate cfeclipse from Eclipse as I use it for Java, XSLT, etc... also.

    Thanks

Would love to see something on creating your own tag library dictionary definitions. And how you can share these around without having to modify your local users dictionary file.

I think one on how to fix the bugs you keep bringup on the lists yourself talk would be good. i.e. Getting started with eclipse plugin development :D
