In case you are either stupid or cant read, the pod on the left says ASK MD and it isnt a way for you to send me spam. You WONT get an email back and it basically just gets placed in the bin. I am not American so not interested in your stupid stocks or want a new mortgage (since I will never use ANY product that has been advertised via spam, think about it you idiots)

If you are a robot, and you just post stuff automatically, just disregard this message as you are the poor creation of a twisted useless mind.

Sorry for the disruption to the readers of this blog with this posting.

Andy J's Gravatar You might wanna add captcha?? Its probably gonna be the only way to prevent them - for a while :o)

Trond Ulseth's Gravatar What I've done on some clients pages is that when a form is submitted a message object is created, one is taken to a page with a preview of the message and a question to confirm the message. I find this easier for the user than captchas as two quick clicks are faster and easier than trying to read a captcha image, sometimes getting the reading or typing wrong (some of them are really hard to read). I've not yet experienced a spam robot getting past this.

johnb's Gravatar I'm 100% convinced that folk are drawn to forms like flies to rotting food! I had a signup form on my site for friends/family etc, I made enough statements like 'There is nothing behind here except private stuff', 'Only friends and family need register' etc....yet still people registered...at one point (before I got rid of it) I had added a line 'By registering you agree to send me $1 million' and yet still i got registrations from unknown people!

Mark Drew's Gravatar Well, I have at least added some javascript that would keep some people out. Lets see if it is of any consequence. I am also tracking IP's so I can start notifying about spamming.

Mark Drew's Gravatar Well, they got past my javascript intrusion attempt. I am just wondering if I need to make sure the referer is the website? (although no referer gets posted) Anyway, whats in San Antonio Texas ?

According to HostIP.Info, the
IP Address 66.135.33.49 is in:
Country: UNITED STATES (US)
City: San Antonio, TX

A few notes on the scum of the earth.

Anyone near? can you use a baseball bat (or I can send you a cricket bat?)

magnetomotive's Gravatar make sure your form action vailidates that the variable #cgi.HTTP_REFERER# is defined and contains the string set in #cgi.HTTP_HOST#. If it doesn't trash that post. Its a good front line defense and one many people forget about.
