Hearing yourself on a Podcast

April 10, 2006 ·

A little surprise this morning as I downloaded the Coldfusion Weekly Podcast. The first thing I heard was my own voice! Check out this great new podcast by Matt Woodward and Peter Farell. You can call in using skype and leave a nice announcement for the start of the show.

The other podcast that I listen to and enjoy regularly is the Coldfusion Podcast that I have been listening to a while and its pretty damned good.

On the same topic you should also check out Out Loud, which is Hal Helms and Jeff Peters.

Over 100 Posts!

February 21, 2006 ·

Without realising it, I just broke the 100 post mark. I have been posting since the 13th of October 2003 (thats a cool 863 days), about a post every week and a half. Dissapointly I have only had 76 comments posted.

Other crazy stats that I seem to have posted more "personal" tagged posts followed closely by "cfeclipse"

the post about the new component explorer has double the comments than any other post.

Here goes for the next 100 posts!

CFEclipse Nightly download sites

February 21, 2006 ·

I have added a new pod to my blog to give you all the nightly download sites for the CFEclipse project.

We are in the process of re-doing the website but at least now we shall have more bandwidth etc.

There are a bunch of new features in the nightly and they might not work. So download at your peril!!

Let me know of any bugs in the nightly, as I am, usually, the person that put the bugs in!

Peter Freitag interviews me!

February 16, 2006 ·

What a turn up for the books, I started getting involved with CFEclipse by doing interviews with the core developers of CFEclipse way back in 2004. Now things have gone full circle and Peter Freitag has interviewed me! Woohoo! Go check it out over at Pete's Blog

CF Frameworks

February 02, 2006 ·

I have been looking into frameworks for a project recently, and have had a number of conversations and basically I think it comes down to preference really. Of course, I have a vested interest since I contribute to CFEclipse as well as have my own plugin for Fusebox over at CFOpen (can you guess my preference yet?) but still I wanted to check out which frameworks are the best for the requirements. Its a lot to go through but Simon Horwith posted about CF Petmarket, a whole site devoted to the Pet Market application built using different frameworks... go check it out!

Finally Moved

October 27, 2005 ·

Finally I have moved over from Blogger to my own site using Ray Camdens's BlogCFC. I wanted to have more control over what I publish etc so its good to have a base on technology that I can change and add features that I want to! First off you can see the search feature, and a nice navigation at the top (which I shall be assigning all previous posts to in due time) Let me know what you think and if you can actually see this!

Blogging From Word

October 07, 2005 ·

Blogging has now even got easier when using www.blogger.com. They have released a plugin for word that allows you to publish posts you write straight from Word!

This also means that I am now going to have to spell check everything!

As an aside, I would say that most of my posts are done through the web interface. I don't have some blogging client side software, but I think it's a major step for most people since it is using a tool that they know.

Ironically enough, Word doesn't know the word blog or blogging.

PostSecret

May 24, 2005 ·

PostSecret: "PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail-in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard." This is a great blog I stumbled upon that has a number of postcards with people sharing secrets with the world via home-made postcards. Some funny, some disturbing but definately all interesting.
